Maple Whiskey Sour Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 oz whiskey (bourbon or rye)
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz pure maple syrup
- Dash of Angostura bitters (optional)
- Lemon twist, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, and a dash of Angostura bitters if using.
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes to about halfway.
- Put the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and thoroughly mix the ingredients.
- Strain the cocktail into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. You can use a strainer to catch any ice shards.
- If desired, you can garnish the cocktail with a twist of lemon peel. To create the twist, hold a lemon peel over the glass and give it a little twist to release the oils. Then drop the twist into the cocktail.
- Give the cocktail a gentle stir to combine the flavors, and enjoy your Maple Whiskey Sour!
Feel free to adjust the amount of maple syrup to your preferred level of sweetness. This cocktail strikes a balance between the rich warmth of whiskey and the tangy sweetness of the maple syrup and lemon juice. Cheers!
